Refund Policy

This page is the canonical refund policy for Hackers Agent. By purchasing any plan, top-up pack, or other paid feature on app.hackersagent.com, you accept the terms below. These terms are referenced from our Terms of Service §3 and apply to all payment methods Hackers Agent accepts (Stripe, Paddle, and any future Merchant-of-Record provider we add with notice).
1. The digital nature of our Service
Hackers Agent provides instant access to AI agents that consume substantial computational resources on demand — frontier-LLM API charges (Anthropic, OpenRouter, Google), GPU cycles for image and vector workloads, Tor circuit bandwidth for dark-web reconnaissance, and orchestration overhead. Once you initiate an agent invocation, these costs are committed to a third-party provider and cannot be reversed.
Because of this, we maintain a strict no-refund policy for delivered AI generations — with the narrow, consumer-friendly carve-outs documented below.
2. The “Generation Event” doctrine
Once a “Generation Event” — the creation of text, code, images, reports, or data by an agent — has been initiated at your request, the Service is considered fully rendered and delivered at the moment the agent begins processing.
- Final sale. All charges for successful AI generations are final and non-refundable.
- Subjective satisfaction. Refunds will not be issued based on the perceived “quality” or “accuracy” of the generated output. AI is probabilistic; you assume the risk of the output's utility for your use-case. We strongly recommend the Free tier to evaluate output quality before subscribing.
- Token / credit usage. Tokens, credits, and top-up packs consumed during a Generation Event are non-reversible. Unused balances do not expire across monthly resets but are non-refundable for cash.
3. Subscription cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via Profile → Billing or the Stripe Customer Portal link emailed with each receipt. Cancellation is immediate, takes no support contact, and does not require any explanation.
- Access through end of cycle. Upon cancellation, you retain access to your tier's features until the end of the current billing cycle. We do not pro-rate.
- Cancellation does not equal refund. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current cycle or any unused token allowance from that cycle.
- Price changes. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice via email. Your existing paid period is honored at the original price.
4. 7-day technical-failure refund window
Refunds or credit reinstatements may be issued at the sole discretion of Hackers Agent when ALL of the following conditions are met:
- The refund request is your first (one per account, lifetime).
- The request reaches support@hackersagent.com within 7 days of the original charge.
- You have used no more than 10% of the affected tier's monthly token allowance, OR the issue is a documented system error in our infrastructure that deducted credits without producing any output, OR a documented platform-wide outage prevented usage of paid features for more than 24 continuous hours.
We will respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method (Stripe / Paddle reversal) and typically settle within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Refunds outside these conditions will be declined — please use the Free tier first to evaluate fit.
5. EU / UK statutory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence. Specifically:
- EU 14-day right of withdrawal (CRD Art. 16(m)). When you purchase a digital subscription or top-up and explicitly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge the loss of withdrawal right (which the checkbox on our pricing page does), the EU 14-day cooling-off period does not apply. If you did not give that consent, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will honor the statutory right.
- UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Equivalent treatment applies for UK residents.
- Other jurisdictions. Where local law grants you additional non-waivable rights (e.g., Australian Consumer Law guarantees), those rights are not affected by this policy.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
We strongly encourage you to contact support@hackersagent.com before initiating a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most billing concerns are resolved within one business day.
- Dispute evidence. When a chargeback is opened, we provide our payment processor with detailed evidence including generation timestamps, IP addresses, agent invocation IDs, token-usage logs, and the signed Terms-of-Service acceptance record bound to your customer ID. This documentation is generally sufficient to refute fraudulent chargebacks for delivered digital services.
- Account termination. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting our support team may result in the permanent ban of your account and the forfeiture of all stored data, conversation history, and unused token balances. We will also report serial chargeback abuse to the card networks via the processor's fraud-reporting channels.
7. Data retention after cancellation
When you cancel your account, your data is treated as follows:
- Conversation history: retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted from primary storage (asynchronous purge from analytics stores completes within 90 days).
- Account record: minimal billing records (transaction IDs, dates, amounts) are retained for 7 years to satisfy tax and audit obligations (US IRS / EU MOSS).
- Payment-method data: never stored by us; tokenized by Stripe / Paddle. Deletion follows their respective retention policies.
- Export before deletion: contact support to request a full export of your conversation history before the 30-day window expires.

All refund and billing inquiries: support@hackersagent.com. Please include your account email and the original Stripe / Paddle receipt number; this typically halves response time.
We aim to acknowledge every inquiry within 1 business day and resolve within 5 business days.
